The Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board (HELSB) has awarded additional student loans to 87 first-year students at Kwame Nkrumah University for the 2025/2026 academic year.

380 appeals were received of which 224 appeals were from applicants from rural areas representing 59 percent and 156 appeals representing 41 percent.
Earlier this year HELSB awarded 660 at Kwame Nkrumah University and 492 at Chalimbana University.
