The Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board (HELSB) has awarded student loans to 610 first-year students at Mukuba University for the 2025/2026 academic year.
HELSB received 1,177 applications for consideration, out of which 1,058 were eligible and 119 were not eligible for the award.
From the eligible applicants, 724 are from rural areas and 453 are from urban areas, representing 62 per cent and 38 per cent respectively.
A total of 5 applications from persons with disabilities were considered for consideration and all were considered for the award.
